Hello, my name is Jen Oshman.

I am saved by grace, wife to Mark, mom to four beautiful daughters who have been raised on three continents, authormissionarypastor’s wife, blogger, and podcaster

I am a native of Denver, Colorado and married my husband Mark at the scandalously young age of 20. After the honeymoon, finishing school, and seminary, we served with Cadence International as missionaries in Okinawa, Japan. There we ministered to service members and their families and I found deep joy in teaching, leading, discipling, and counseling women. One decade and four daughters later, we transitioned from Asia to Europe. There we served with Pioneers International as church planters in the Czech Republic, where the Evangelical Christian population numbers less than 0.5%.

In 2015, we were unexpectedly called off the mission field to care for my dad who suffered from Alzheimer’s and Dementia. We now reside in Parker, Colorado where we planted an Acts29 church, Redemption Parker, in 2016 and we remain on staff in a supporting role with Pioneers in Europe. Outside of missions in Europe and church planting in Parker, I write and speak. I am especially passionate about encouraging women in deepening their faith and growing a Biblical worldview.

My writing has been shared at Crossway, Desiring GodThe Gospel Coalition, Tim Challies, Risen Motherhood, Unlocking the BibleChurch LeadersA Life Overseas, and I am a staff writer at Gospel-Centered Discipleship.

My first book, Enough About Me: Find Lasting Joy in the Age of Self was published with Crossway In March, 2020. And my second book, Cultural Counterfeits: Confronting 5 Empty Promises of Our Age and How We Were Made for So Much More was published with Crossway in March 2022.

Our family isn’t sure yet which continent to call home.
